Jammu Police Recover Gold Worth Rs. 1.5 Cr Within 48 Hours of Theft

Jammu: Police in Jammu on Friday said that in a swift and commendable operation, Jammu Police have recovered approximately 1.5 kg of stolen gold, valued at Rs. 1.5 crore, within 48 hours of the theft reported from a residential house in Bakshi Nagar on the intervening night of April 29/30, 2025.
In a statement issued from the District Police Office Jammu, it was informed that the police immediately launched an investigation upon receiving the complaint, deploying a mix of technical surveillance and human intelligence to trace the missing gold.
A special investigation team was constituted under the overall supervision of SP City North Sh. Vivek Shekhar (JKPS) and SDPO City West Dr. Satish Bhardwaj (JKPS). The core team included SHO Bakshi Nagar Inspector Azad Manhas, SHO Janipur Inspector Vikram Sharma, SHO Bus Stand Inspector Vikas Dogra, SHO Nowabad Inspector Deepak Pathania, PSI Murtaza Rehman, SI Sunil Singh Thakur, PSI Vishal, and others.
The police also engaged FSL experts and deployed sniffer dogs to aid in the search and forensic analysis. The coordinated efforts of the team led to the successful recovery of the entire stolen gold stock in under two days.
The police stated that further investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the accused involved in the crime. This remarkable breakthrough highlights the efficiency, technical proficiency, and relentless pursuit of justice by the Jammu Police. Their quick response and teamwork underscore a strong commitment to safeguarding the property and interests of the public.
