DC chairs Single Window Committee meeting to review mining issues in Poonch Distt

Poonch: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal chaired a meeting of District Level Single Window Committee (DLSWC) here on Friday in the Meeting Hall of the DC Office complex to address critical mining issues in the district.
As the chairman of the District Level Single Window Committee (DLSWC), Deputy Commissioner led discussions on the execution of mining leases and related concerns.
The meeting featured in-depth discussions on various aspects, including title verification, site plans, and the issuance and clearance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for newly identified mineral blocks. A significant focus was placed on strengthening control and regulatory measures to ensure strict compliance with mining regulations.
The DC reviewed the case-wise status of NOCs under the Single Window Clearance system, assessing the clearance processes of various stakeholders and the status of joint inspections.
He instructed the Officers to visit these sites to ensure that mineral leasing does not create detrimental effects or environment. He emphasized the importance of adhering to the regulations prescribed by the Geology and Mining Department while granting NOCs.
The Deputy Commissioner also urged officers to adopt a vigilant and proactive approach in identifying illegal activities related to mineral extraction. He called for strict action against violators and stressed the necessity of implementing appropriate legal and punitive measures.
ADC Tahir Mustafa Malik; ACR Mohammad Sayeed; DFO, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, District Soil Conservation Officer, Tehsildars, DMO, Executive Engineers and other concerned attended the meeting.
