Jammu: In view of the prevailing cross-border tension in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, all staff members at Government Medical College Hospital (GMCH) Jammu have been directed to remain alert and ensure full preparedness for any exigency.
According to an official order issued by the Medical Superintendent a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS reads, staff have been asked to be available and maintain uninterrupted patient care. The Store Officer and Store Keepers have specifically been instructed to keep essential supplies, emergency medicines, and critical equipment ready for immediate use.
“All hospital staff are advised to restrict unnecessary holidays and ensure their presence within hospital premises during duty hours,” the order states.
A 24×7 Control Room has also been established to coordinate emergency responses. The control room will operate round the clock and can be contacted for any urgent assistance at the following numbers, 0191-2582355, — 0191-2582356. The administration has urged all departments to stay vigilant and cooperate fully in view of the situation. (JKNS)
