Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Budgam and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar police said that a Police party of Police Station Budgam at a checkpoint established at Karipora Crossing near Railway Station Budgam, intercepted a supect identified as Sajad Rafiq Bhat S/o Rafiq Ahmad Bhat R/o Muqdam Mohallah Sheikpora Budgam and during search recovered Heroin-like substance weighing about 9.9 grams from the possession of the said who was arrested and a case under FIR No. 83/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Budgam besides initiating further investigation.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society, reiterating therein its commitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
