Srinagar : Srinagar Police on Thursday observed ‘Thana Diwas/lok Darbar’ across various Police Stations and Police Posts of the city. In the 1st phase for the month of April 2025, the event was organized in (13) Police Stations and two Police Posts of the district.
The meetings were chaired by supervisory officers & jurisdictional police officers and were attended by civil society members including members of Auqaf Committees, members of Traders Federation and Transporters, Panchayti Raj members, Religious Preachers, Mohallah elders etc.
During these Lok Darbar, participants highlighted various issues of public importance and put forth their grievances which were within the domain of district police like illegal narcotics trafficking, sand mafia, traffic issues, floating population etc. some of the issues highlighted pertaining to civil administration like improvement and maintenance of roads, sanitation, public health, electricity etc were also recorded.
The SSP Srinagar stated, thana Diwas/Lok Darbar is a platform for us connect directly with the people we serve. It is our duty to ensure that every citizen feels heared and that their grievances are addressed promptly. We are committed to building a safer and more secure environment for all.
Besides, the participants were urged to co-operate with Police in curbing the drug menace and in identifying anti national and anti-social elements to maintain peace and order in the society.
