Samba: A rigorous market inspection drive was conducted Saturday by the Tehsil Supply Officers (TSOs) across the markets of the district. The drive was conducted on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma and under the overall supervision of Assistant Director, FCS&CA Rahul Gupta.
The drive aimed to curb adulteration, prevent arbitrary price hikes, and ensure the sale of quality consumables in the interest of public welfare. The inspection was carried out in line with recent instructions to strengthen market surveillance and protect consumers from exploitation.
During the inspection, several establishments were checked for compliance with price display norms, hygiene standards, and the quality of food ite Shopkeepers were directed to maintain transparency in their dealings, and immediate action was taken in cases of non-compliance.
Vendors were sensitized about proper billing practices and the need to adhere to legal metrology standards. The department reiterated its commitment to safeguarding consumer rights and warned that such surprise inspections will continue to ensure strict adherence to nor
