Police organises “Cricket Tournament” in B’pora

Srinagar: Police in Bandipora under Civic Action Programme of J&K Police on Tuesday organized a Cricket Tournament at Adnan Sports Park Watpora Bandipora.
The inaugural programme of the tournament was presided by SSP Bandipora Harmeet Singh Mehta. The inaugural match was played between Green Stars Dachigam Vs Sun Risers Mantrigam and Sun Risers Mantrigam won the match. In his inaugural address, SSP Bandipora commended all the teams for their participation. He emphasized the importance of sports in improving both the physical and mental well-being while steering youth away from drugs and other negative influences.
A total of Sixteen (16) teams from across the district are participating in the tournament, which will be played on knockout basis. The tournament will provide local youth an opportunity to showcase their talent. The event also aims to promote teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among the participants.
The event was also attended by DySP Hqrs Bandipora, DySP DAR Bandipora, DySP PC Bandipora/Hajin, SDPO Sumbal and other officers of Bandipora Police. The event was also witnessed by a large gathering of sports lovers.
