Missing Girl Recovered Within 12 Hours in Shopian, Police Crack Case Swiftly

Shopian: Shopian Police recovered a missing 15-year-old girl within 12 hours after a complaint was filed by her father.

Police Spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS reads, police Post Keegam received a missing compliant and acting swiftly on a missing complaint filed by Shabir Ahmad Rather, a resident of Haji Check, regarding his 15 year old daughter, name withheld, who had gone missing since yesterday 11 AM, the Incharge Police Post Keegam Inspr Shahbaz Bashir took immediate cognizance, flashed a signal, and launched a search operation.

During the investigation, credible information was received indicating the girl’s presence in Yaripora, Kulgam. Acting on this lead, a police team led by HC Ab Rashid 97/SPN was deputed to the location, it reads.

Following a meticulous search, the missing girl was successfully recovered from Yaripora, Kulgam, with 16 year old boy, name withheld, resident of Tarigam, Kulgam.

A case FIR No. 60/2025 under Section 137(2) has been registered, and further investigation is underway. The Shopian Police remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens and appreciates the swift response of the team in resolving the case within 12 hours, reads the statement. (JKNS)
