Srinagar: Police on Monday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Sopore and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from zonal Police headquarters Srinagar police said a police team led by Incharge Police Post Watergam under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad and SHO Police Station Dangiwacha, during patrolling at Watergam, intercepted a suspect and during search recovered 696 grams of contraband charas powder like substance and 34 grams of charas like substance from the possession of the said accused who was arrested and identified as Mohammad Jamal Gojree S/o Ghulam Ahmad Gojree R/o Watergam Rafiabad. Subsequently .
Stating that a case under FIR No. 29/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Dangiwacha besides initiating further investigation Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement police appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society, reiterating therein its commitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
