Srinagar Police on Sunday recovered the body of another youth, who had gone missing along with two others in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district last month.
Police said the body of Mohammad Showkat Bajad a resident of Chata Doonda, Rajouri (currently residing in Chandian Pajan, Qazigund) was found in Vaishow Nallah at Mah Ashmuji area in Kulgam district this morning.
The body of his brother Riyaz Ahmad Bajad was also found a few days ago from the same Vaishow Nallah.
Pertinently, on February 13, the three youths Gujjar tribe—Showkat Bajad, his brother Riyaz Bajad, and another person, Mukhtar Ahmad had gone to attend a function of a relative, went missing before reaching their destination from Qazigund. Their phones have remained switched off since their disappearance.
All three hailing from the Rajouri district of Jammu division were working as labourers in Qazigund.
Their relatives have been searching for them for the past month and have lodged a missing report at the local police station.
A search operation to locate the missing trio was launched by Kulgam Police, SDRF, and NDRF.
Meanwhile, the police have taken the body of Showkat Bajad to Government Medical College Anantnag for legal medico formalities to ascertain the cause of death, they said.
The search to locate the third missing youth continues, they added.
