The administration took this decision as a precautionary measure due to continuous rainfall in plains and snowfall in higher reaches, which has led to disruptions in road connectivity and an increased risk of avalanches and landslides in vulnerable areas.

Officials have advised residents, especially those in hilly regions, to avoid unnecessary travel and follow safety advisories issued by local authorities.

Meanwhile, concerned departments have been directed to remain on alert to handle any emergencies arising from the prevailing weather conditions. (JKNS)
