Srinagar,: Sports have emerged as a powerful tool for revitalising the lives of Kashmiri youth and has channelised their energy to promote physical and mental well-being, foster unity and create opportunities for personal and community growth, thus contributing to Nation Building. Under the aegis of the Chinar Corps and Aseem Foundation, a Women Cricket Team from Kashmir, today embarked upon a cricket tour from Srinagar to Pune to give wings to their dreams. This team will hone their cricketing skills while playing and learning from the experience of Maharashtra Cricket Team. The 15 member squad was flagged off by the GOC, Chinar Corps at Badami Bagh, Srinagar. The tour aims at providing exposure to the young girls and an opportunity to hone their skills by playing and interacting with teams from Maharashtra and cricketing dignitaries, alongside exploring Mumbai, the financial capital of the country. National level facilities have been reserved for the matches by Aseem Foundation, Pune which has been instrumental in facilitating this event.

Indian Army remains committed to engage, uplift and empower women of Kashmir to excel in all facets of life including sports. Such opportunities as well as interaction of young Kashmiri women with the people from other parts of the country enriches their horizon and helps in shaping a society with positive attitude. GOC, Chinar Corps congratulated the team members for their selection and wished them luck for their future endeavours.
