Poonch: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal, on Tuesday chaired a crucial meeting to review the progress and implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) projects in the district.
At the outset, the Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Department Poonch presented updates on both financial and physical progress achieved under the Mission.
The discussions focused on the ongoing water supply schemes, including the current status of mechanical, civil, and electrical works, as well as the progress of borewell installations, tank construction, and pipe network installations. Comprehensive reports on sub-division and scheme-wise analyses were also reviewed.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officials to conduct on-site inspections of water supply schemes, incorporating geo-tagging for accurate record-keeping. He emphasized the need to assess work quality and identify barriers affecting the progress of ongoing schemes.
Highlighting the significance of JJM as a flagship program, the DC urged executing agencies to demonstrate dedication in ensuring the smooth execution of projects in their respective areas. He stressed the importance of collaboration among the Jal Shakti Department, contractors, and other stakeholders to overcome any challenges.
The meeting concluded with a directive for timely completion and target achievement under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
The meeting was attended by SE Hydraulic Poonch, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti, Executive Engineer Ground Water, Executive Engineer JPDCL, along with AEEs and JEs of Jal Shakti and Mechanical Sub-divisions.
