An aggrieved parent wishing anonymity speaking to news agency JKNS, said his daughter had a close encounter with a stray dog, marking her second such incident inside the college premises. “This is the second time my daughter has been chased by dogs. Authorities must act before a serious tragedy occurs,” he said.

A student, voicing frustration, blamed a waste dumping site inside the college for attracting dogs. “It makes no sense to turn a college into a garbage dumping site. Can’t the college management request the government or SMC for bigger dustbins? I believe this waste site is the reason dogs gather here,” she told JKNS.

She further added that dogs often roam near classrooms and the playground, and last year, multiple videos surfaced online showing students being chased. “The principal was recently changed, but we don’t know if the new administration will take any action on this issue,” she said.

Meanwhile, repeated attempts to contact the Principal of the Women’s College Srinagar for a comment went unanswered. (JKNS)
