Director Meteorological Department Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, as per news agency JKNS, said, “Moderate snowfall is likely over the higher reaches of Kupwara, Bandipora, and Ganderbal today, while scattered rain and snow are expected on March 11. From March 12-16, multiple spells of light to moderate rain and snow will continue across several areas.”

Dr. Ahmad further stated that the weather is expected to remain generally dry from March 17-21. Authorities have advised travelers, tourists, and transporters to follow official traffic updates, as wet weather could impact road conditions, particularly in hilly areas.

Farmers have been urged to suspend agricultural activities till March 16, while residents in avalanche-prone areas have been advised to remain cautious due to the risk of landslides and snow accumulation. (JKNS)
