Jammu: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday distanced the J&K government from the controversial fashion show in Gulmarg, stating that it was a private event held at a private hotel with no involvement of government infrastructure.
Speaking in the Assembly, as per news agency JKNS, Omar said the administration has been directed to investigate whether any laws were violated by the organizers. “If any violations are found, the matter will be handed over to the police for necessary action,” he said.
The Chief Minister also questioned the decision to deny permission to the Deputy Chief Minister from visiting Kathua, while Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Sunil Sharma was allowed. “If the situation in Kathua was so serious, why was the LoP permitted but the Deputy CM stopped?” he asked. (JKNS)
