Jammu: International Women’s Day was celebrated at the IRP-15th Battalion, Gulshan Ground, Jammu, with great enthusiasm. Anand Jain , Additional Director General of Police, Armed J&K, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Sarah Rizvi, , DIG IRP Range, Jammu, was the Guest of Honour.
Upon his arrival, the ADGP Armed was accorded a Guard of Honour by a contingent of IRP-15th Battalion. A variety of programs were organized to mark the occasion, including the inauguration of the Juice Corner and Nayamat Kada at the Battalion Headquarters.
During the event, the women personnel of the Battalion showcased their skills in a weapons drill and archery demonstration. A medical camp was also organized, where a team of doctors from the Police Hospital Jammu examined the women personnel and conducted various medical tests.
In his address, the ADGP Armed congratulated and appreciated the efforts of the Commandant, IRP 15th Battalion, for initiating and organizing the week-long program.
As part of the celebrations, Proud Parent Certificates were presented to two women officials of the Battalion – W/HC Saria Devi and W/HC Sunita Devi – by the ADGP Armed J&K, in recognition of their exemplary contribution in the selection of their children for qualifying the NEET 2024 examinations.
The ADGP Armed also took the opportunity to inspect the Battalion’s infrastructure and the play way facility provided for the children of the women personnel. He also planted a sapling within the premises of the Battalion. Additionally, a debate competition was held where female officials gave presentations on the topic of women empowerment.
In his address, Anand Jain, ADGP Armed J&K, extended his heartfelt greetings to all the women personnel. He emphasized the pivotal role women play in society and national development and underscored the importance of gender equality. He stressed the need to involve more women in the sports arena and encouraged the women personnel to excel at the national level.
