Srinagar,: Meteorological Departmenton on Monday said that light to moderate rain and snowfall is expected at most places in Jammu and Kashmir today.

Some higher reaches in North and Central Kashmir likely to receive moderate to heavy snowfall.

Director MET Dr. mukhtar Ahmad as per news agency JKNS said that light to moderate rain and snowfall is expected at most places in Jammu and Kashmir today. With some higher reaches of north nad central kashmir may recieve moderate to heavy snow.

The weather is expected to remain dry from March 4 to 9, while a fresh spell of rain and snow is likely between March 10 and 12, Dr Mukhtar said.

The department has also issued an advisory, warning of moderate to heavy snowfall over isolated higher reaches today. “There is a possibility of landslides, rockfalls, shooting stones, and mudslides at vulnerable locations,” he said, urging tourists, travelers, and transporters to follow official advisories.

Farmers have been advised to suspend irrigation and other agricultural activities until March 4, while people have been cautioned to avoid avalanche-prone and steep areas. (JKNS)
