Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested a drug peddler and also recovered a significant quantity of contraband from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police team from Police Station Srigufwara, at a checkpoint established at Srihama Hospital Crossing, apprehended a drug peddler identified as Altaf Ahmad Dar @Ali Commando S/o Asadullah Dar R/o Sirhama and recovered 1.2 Kg of Cannabis Powder from his possession.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 14/2025 was registered at Police Station Srigufwara under relevant sections besides initiating further investigations Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement reiterated its commitment to eliminate drug peddling and ensuring a safer environment for the community and also urged people to report any drug-related activities in their neighbourhood to help curb this growing menace.
