Acknowledging the rising concern of drug addiction among youth, he emphasized the importance of timely interventions to protect them from this societal menace.

Zaman stressed that drug abuse poses a significant challenge, threatening the youth, who are the future of the region.

To counter this, initiatives like sports tournaments are being promoted to provide a healthy alternative, offering young individuals a platform to showcase their talent, build confidence, and avoid harmful distractions.

He also pointed out the dual benefits of such initiatives—fostering youth development while strengthening the relationship between the police and the community.

By engaging in these activities, the police aim to build trust, cooperation, and mutual respect with the youth, thereby breaking barriers and improving communication.

He assured the public that alongside these constructive initiatives, the police are taking strict action against those involved in drug peddling.

He reiterated the commitment to tackling the root causes of drug addiction, ensuring that those who exploit the youth by pushing drugs into society will face strict legal consequences. The goal is not just punishment but also prevention.—(JKNS)
