Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s campaign against obesity, highlighting its impact on physical and mental health.
In a post on X, as per news agency JKNS, CM Omar wrote, “I’m very happy to join the campaign against obesity launched by PM @narendramodi ji. Obesity causes a number of lifestyle-related health issues like heart disease, type 2 diabetes, strokes & breathing problems, not to mention mental health conditions like anxiety & depression.”
Following the campaign’s format, he nominated 10 people to continue the initiative and urged them to further nominate 10 others each. The nominees include business leader Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, industrialist Sajjan Jindal, actress Deepika Padukone, tennis star Sania Mirza, cricketer Irfan Pathan, politician Supriya Sule, wushu coach Kuldeep Handoo, archer Sheetal, cricketer Iqra Rasool, and fitness enthusiast Palak Bijral.
