Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Sopore and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar a police party of Police Station Panzalla led by SHO Police Station Panzalla, at a checkpoint established at Panji Colony Rohama, intercepted a suspicious person identified as Nazir Ahmad Lone S/o Ghulam Nabi Lone R/o Shalkote Rohama Rafiabad and during search, 42 grams of contraband charas like substance was recovered from his possession. Subsequently the accused has been arrested.
Stating that the police has accordingly registered a case vide FIR No. 08/2025 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Panzalla & further investigation has been initiated.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement police appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and reassured the community members that it will act tough against the criminals as per law.
