Police organizes awareness programme on new criminal laws in Budgam

Police: On the directions of SSP Budgam, Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS, Budgam Police organized an awareness programme on New Criminal Laws at Townhall Magam.

The event was Chaired by SDPO Magam Shri Mohammad Ashrif-JKPS along with SHO PS Magam Inspr. Mudasir Hussain. It was attended by civil society members, students of Sky coaching centre and Hasnain coaching centre Magam. Additionally, BMO Magam Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Mir and Naib Tehsildar Magam Shri Fayaz Hussain Khan also Participated in the event.

During the session, Police officers explained key aspects of New Criminal Laws, Highlighting the replacement of IPC, Cr.PC and Evidence Act with the BNS, BNSS and BSA respectively. They also threw light on its benefits on society by implementing and adhering these norms for maintaining law and order.

Chairing Officers emphasized that these laws aim to ensure speedy Justice for victims and swift punishment for offenders. They also shed light on the provision for registering Zero FIRs and e-FIRs.

The session was highly interactive, with participants actively engaging in discussions, asking questions, and seeking clarifications on the new legal provisions. The new laws also incorporate modern investigation techniques, utilizing technology to enhance the justice system.
