Shopian: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta today convened a meeting to take stock of the arrangements to be put in place for the smooth conduct of the upcoming Maha Shivratri festival,to be celebrated on February, 26, 2025.

The DC directed for ensuring adequate arrangements of illumination,track maintenance, sanitation, healthcare,water and power supply, availability of Fish,and other arrangements at Kapal Mochan Temple,Nagbal, and other religious places across the district.

The discussions aimed to ensure that all preparations are in place for the smooth conduct of the upcoming Maha Shivaratri festival in the district.Security, traffic regulation, uninterrupted power and water supply, sanitation, and medical facilities at these sites were stressed for compliance.

The DC also directed for market checking on a regular basis to curb the illegal marketing practices by imposing heavy fines against violations.

ADC, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz, ACR, Shakoor Ahmed Dar, Additional SP, Showkat Hussain, ACP, Manzoor Ahmad, CMO, Dr. Arshid Tak, Tehsildars and other concerned were present.
