Talking to media persons in Srinagar, as per news agency JKNS, Director School Education Kashmir, G.N. Itoo, said the department is examining the ASER survey and has constituted a team to address gaps.

On the recent ASER 2025 survey, which showed a grim picture of schools in terms of infrastructural gaps and learning outcomes, Itoo said, “We are examining it, and DSEK has constituted a team. A meeting was also held at the administrative level, and JKBOSE, SCERT, and the Directorate were directed to come up with a roadmap addressing infrastructural gaps and capacity building of teachers.

“Teams are on it, and we are sure we will submit a comprehensive roadmap to the government. The government is also serious about it.”

“But I can also say there are good things in the survey as well. We have been doing well at certain levels compared to the national level.

“However, wherever we are weak, we have coordinated with Kashmir University, SCERT, JKBOSE, and NGOs, as they are experts in learning outcomes.

“With them, we will make a roadmap, submit it to the government, and ensure it is strictly followed,” Itoo said. (JKNS)
