DC Shopian takes review of District Good Governance Index, called for improving governance indices

Progress and performance of indicators under District Good Governance Index at Conference Hall of Mini-Secretariat Shopian.

The review focused on evaluating current standings and strategizing improvements in governance metrics.

The Good Governance Index, developed by the UT Government with the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), assesses the impact of various government interventions at district level and provides futuristic roadmap for improving district level governance and service delivery.

The Deputy Commissioner took detailed sector/indicator wise appraisal of performance from all the departments till date.

DC impressed upon all district heads to improve the developmental parameters during the ensuing year by working through effective coordination with a targeted approach.

The meeting was attended by ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone,ACD, LDM, DFO, CAO, DPO, Tehsildars, BDOs and other district officers.
