Jammu : Expanding its orthopedic services to include total knee replacement surgeries, Jammu AIIMS further enhanced the range of advanced treatments available at the institute.
The procedure was successfully performed under the expertise of Dr. Raashid Anjum and his team, treating a patient with bilateral osteoarthritis of the knees through bilateral total knee replacement.
The anesthesia team, led by Dr. Shruti, provided vital support throughout the surgery, ensuring a smooth and safe procedure for the patient, who is now recovering well with improved mobility.
As per the official communique, the Director of AIIMS Jammu acknowledged the pivotal role played by the Department of Orthopedics in advancing the institute’s healthcare services.
He commended the department for its ongoing efforts to expand and innovate, particularly in its diverse range of specialized surgeries.
The Executive Director and CEO of AIIMS Jammu, Prof. (Dr.) Shakti Gupta emphasized the importance of the Department’s contributions to providing high-quality care to the community and reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to supporting its growth with the latest medical technologies and equipment. The department’s continued success and expansion are a testament to the dedication and expertise of its skilled medical team.
This development complements AIIMS Jammu’s ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare services under the able leadership of Dr. Amit Thakur, Additional Professor, Department of Orthopaedics, AIIMS Jammu, and comprised the faculty members Dr. Raashid Anjum, Associate Professor, Dr. Tarsem Lal Motten, Assistant Professor, Dr. Sabarathinam Ravi, Assistant Professor, AIIMS Jammu.
The institute continues to advance its capabilities in providing quality care to the region. Since its inception, the Department of Orthopedics at AIIMS Jammu has consistently expanded its services to include a wide range of specialized surgeries, it read.
The statement said that these include pediatric orthopedics, trauma care, adult reconstruction, joint replacements, spine surgeries, and deformity correction procedures. The department is committed to continuously advancing its capabilities and plans to acquire the latest state-of-the-art equipment to further enhance the quality of care provided to patients.UNI
