SPO Among Two Drug Peddlers Arrested; 12 Grams of Heroin Seized in Jammu

Jammu: Jammu Police arrested two drug peddlers, including an SPO posted at DPL Poonch, and recovered 12 grams of heroin-like substance (Chitta) during a late-night operation near Balol Bridge, Ring Road, Miran Sahib.

A police spokesperson told JKNS that the operation was led by the SHO of Police Station Miran Sahib under the supervision of SDPO R.S. Pura and SP Headquarters. The suspects, traveling in a vehicle from Samba to Akhnoor, attempted to flee but were swiftly apprehended.

The arrested individuals have been identified as, Irfan Hussain(SPO posted at DPL Poonch)S/O Matloob Hussain, R/O Galuta, Tehsil Mendhar and Sajjad Hussain Shah, S/O Sarfraz Hussain Shah, R/O Potha Surankot, District Poonch.

It further reads, thorough search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 12 grams of heroin-like substance. Following this, an FIR No. 11/2025 under sections 8/21/22/29/60 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Miran Sahib, and further investigation is underway.

Jammu Police remains committed to eradicating the drug menace and urges citizens to support the fight against narcotics by reporting any suspicious activities. The identity of informants providing crucial leads in such cases will be kept confidential, reads the statement. (JKNS)
