Talking about menace of stunt riding, Mahajan warned, “If parents cannot control their children engaging in such acts, the department will take strict measures against them. If someone’s life is endangered due to reckless behavior, we will act decisively.”

On the transport subsidy scheme, he clarified that it is aimed at phasing out vehicles older than 15 years, including buses, matadors, and mini-buses. “Any bus exceeding 15 years must be scrapped following due procedures,” he said.

Responding to transporters’ demand for a comprehensive transport policy, Mahajan said, “A draft policy has been sent to the government. Once there is further action, we will inform you accordingly.” (JKNS)
