Shopian: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar on Monday visited Mughal Road to assess and evaluate the road’s traffic worthiness for reopening.
The DC’s visit up to Peer Ki Gali for on-spot assessment was crucial vis a vis determining if it is safe for vehicles to ply on road, which is a vital link connecting Kashmir with Jammu through Peer Panjal Mountains.
DC along with other officers stopped over many places enroute Peer Ki Gali. Frost and slippery conditions at many places along the road has been found and same is a challenge to be tackled first before seeing its re- opening,
By doing so, the administration aims to ensure the road is safe for travelers and commuters.
ADDC, Dr Nasir Ahmad Lone and other civil & police officers were also present on the occasion.
