Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Pulwama and also recovered psychotropic substances during their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that during the course of investigation of case FIR No. 246/2024 U/S 8/22 NDPS Act of PS Pulwama, further leads were developed, which led to the arrest of two more drug peddlers identified as Sajad Ahmed Sheikh R/o Nambla Uri and Mudasir Ahmed Thoker S/o Gh Hassan Thoker R/o Sonasamil, adding therein that 264.5 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of one of the accused Mudasir Ahmad.
Stating that a drug peddler namely Shabir Ahmed Chowdary S/o Mir Ali Chowdary R/o Sidhra Jammu was arrested along with his vehicle JK02DB-4579 in the instant case besides recovering 305 grams of Heroin from his possession Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement police appealed people to cooperate with it in the fight against the drug menace by sharing any information regarding drug peddling or trafficking in their areas. Police also appealed people to contact nearest police station for the report any suspicious activities and help to create a drug-free society.
