Jammu : In a significant move towards empowering community institutions, the Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM) has successfully concluded a comprehensive four-day training program aimed at enhancing the capacity of officials to aid the functioning of sub-committees.
Held in Jammu, the program focused on equipping staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively support sub-committees at both the Village Organization (VO) and Cluster Level Federation (CLF) levels.
Recognizing the pivotal role of sub-committees in driving grassroots development, the training emphasized practical strategies and best practices to improve their functionality. Participants engaged in interactive sessions, group discussions, fostering collaboration and deepening their understanding of the sub-committees’ roles and responsibilities in community empowerment.
Speaking at the concluding session, Dr. Shubhra Sharma, Mission Director of JKRLM, emphasized, “This training program is a testament to our unwavering commitment to building robust and capable institutions that can drive positive change at the grassroots level. The comprehensive approach adopted during these four days has strengthened the foundation for enhanced governance and accountability within community-based organizations.”
She further elaborated that the training program aimed to strengthen community institutions and enhance the capacity of staff members to support the effective functioning of sub-committees within these institutions. “Sub-committees are critical in achieving the mission’s objectives at the grassroots level. By equipping staff with the knowledge and skills to guide and support these sub-committees at the VO and CLF levels, we are laying the groundwork for inclusive and sustainable rural development,” she added.
She said that the program marks a significant milestone in JKRLM’s ongoing efforts to empower rural communities through well-functioning, sustainable, and accountable institutions.
