Srinagar: National Conference Member of Parliament (MP), Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi on Monday made a strong appeal in Lok Sabha, urging the central government to provide a one-time age relaxation for candidates applying for Jammu and Kashmir Police Sub-Inspector (JKPSI) posts.

Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, as per the details collected by the news agency (JKNS), highlighted that thousands of aspirants have missed out on opportunities due to delays in the recruitment process, which caused them to surpass the upper age limit.

He stressed these delays have hindered recruitment, preventing many qualified and dedicated individuals from joining the police force.

The MP also pointed out the negative effect on the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, noting that the prolonged wait has left many aspirants disheartened and uncertain about their career paths.

He stressed, a one-time age relaxation would be both a just decision and a significant step toward restoring trust in the recruitment system. “I request the Government of India and the Home Minister to step in and address this issue,” he said, urging immediate action from the central government to tackle the unique challenges faced by the youth of the region.—(JKNS)
