Bengaluru: An Education Tour for Youth of Kupwara to South India was organised by “Humdard-e-Kupwara” 41 RR (MARATHA LI) under the aegis of 68 Mountain Brigade as part of OP SADBHAVNA. 15 selected students from Kupwara visited reputed educational institutions and sports facilities in Bengaluru from 09th to 15th Dec 2024. The aim was to provide them exposure to latest academic developments in the country as well as foster a sense of integration through fascinating cultural exchange.
Among the premier educational institutions of the country, they visited the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS) wherein they had valuable interaction with scholars. They also visited the 115 year old Indian Institute of Science (IISc) wherein they were briefed at the Centre of Ecological Sciences (CES), Materials Research Centre (MRC) and Supercomputer Engineering & Research Centre (SERC). At SERC, they were briefed on PARAM Pravega, a cutting-edge supercomputing facility which is valuable for research in various scientific domains.
They also visited Amazon Development Centre at Baghmare Tech Park which was an amazing gateway into the corporate life. The visits to HAL Aerospace Museum & Heritage Centre and Visveswariya Industrial and Technological Museum (VITM) made them gain knowledge on the evolution of Aerospace technology in the India. They also visited Madras Engineer Group (MEG) and Centre, and Parachute Regiment Training Centre (PRTC) of the Indian Army wherein they became privy to the rich history of sacrifice and victory of the Indian Army.
Exploring the rich sports culture, a visit to M Chinnaswamy KSCA Stadium and National Cricket Academy (NCA) was wonderful.
The Education Tour has been a well-balanced trip and has indeed opened windows of opportunities for them towards a better future with a positive perspective and it is hopeful that these young students will be the pioneers of education in Kashmir during upcoming times.
