IED defused on Srinagar-Baramulla Highway; road now open

Baramulla: An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted along the Srinagar-Baramulla National Highway at Palpora Palhallan in the Pattan area of Baramulla District has been detected and defused by joint forces. The road is now open for traffic.

A top police officer told the news agency JKNS that traffic movement on the Srinagar-Baramulla National Highway was temporarily suspended on Monday after security forces discovered a suspicious object near Palhallan Pattan.

He said the traffic movement on the highway was suspended after the discovery, while now that it has been successfully defused by joint security forces, the road has been reopened.
