Srinagar: A mosque and three residential houses were damaged in a massive fire that broke out in the Khanyar area of Srinagar on Friday, officials said.

Fire and Emergency officials said that the fire broke out at 3.30 PM in a house at Gousiya Market Khanyar and engulfed two nearby houses and a mosque causing extensive damage to the property.

Soon after the incident, several fire tenders were rushed from various city centre stations to the spot to douse the leaping flames.

No one was injured in the incident, they said, and added the cause of the fire is being ascertained.
