The drive was led by SDM Zaffar Ahmad Lone, who attended the event in support of the participants. Social worker Ishtiaq Lone delivered an impactful lecture on the importance of community responsibility in maintaining a sustainable environment. Peerzada Sayeed, Beoparmandal President and personal secretary to MLA Karnah Javaid Mirchal, spoke to the attendees, highlighting Beoparmandal’s commitment to polythene-free shops in the area and encouraging local businesses to actively participate in environmental protection.

The cleanup began early in the morning, with participants enthusiastically clearing waste and creating clean pathways along the river and canal. Despite the demanding tasks, the volunteers showed high energy and dedication throughout the drive. After the event, the Indian Army provided refreshments, allowing everyone a moment to reflect on the positive impact of their collective efforts.
