Srinagar:  As per the plan of action of J&K Legal Services Authority, for the year 2024, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare, observed National Children’s Day on November 14 at the Child Care Institutions (Pareesha and Palash)Harwan, Srinagar. The event was held under the esteemed guidance of Mr. Jaffer Hussain Beg, Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority and Principal District & Sessions Judge Srinagar, and under the supervision of Ms. Nusrat Ali Hakak, Sub-Judge/Secretary of DLSA Srinagar, resonated with a powerful message of inclusivity and fostering a brighter future for all children.
The program was graced by the presence of key dignitaries including Ms. Nusrat Ali Hakak, Dr. Khair Ul Nisa, Chairperson of Child Welfare Committee, Srinagar, Mr. Showkat Ahmed Mir, Ms. Nazia Wani & Ms. Sitendra Kaur, Superintendent of Pareesha & Palash (Child Care Institutions) Harwan, Srinagar, along with officials from the Department of Social Welfare, Srinagar, Members of the Child Welfare Committee Srinagar, Officials, Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel, Para Legal Volunteers of DLSA Srinagar, and officials from the Child Care Institutions.
Underscoring the importance of Children’s rights, Ms. Nusrat Ali Hakak, Secretary, DLSA Srinagar personally inspected the facilities at Pareesha & Palaash (Child Care Institutions), on the eve of National Children’s day. The timely inspection highlighted the commitment to ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for the children.
Ms. Nusrat Ali Hakak, Secretary DLSA Srinagar, encouraged the students at the child care institutions, emphasizing the importance of education, access to legal aid, and their fundamental rights. She said that National Children’s Day serves as a reminder of society’s collective responsibility to care for, empower, and protect vulnerable children, ensuring they grow with dignity and access to opportunities.
The event included various activities and interactions aimed at fostering confidence, joy, and a sense of community among the children. Students from Child Care Institutions, showcased their talents & creativity through a series of activities like Singing, Dancing & friendly competitions in games/activities. The celebration culminated in a prize distribution ceremony by Ms. Nusrat Ali Hakak, Sub-Judge/Secretary DLSA Srinagar, Dr. Khair Ul Nisa, Chairperson of Child Welfare Committee, Srinagar, rewarding the winners & acknowledging the participation of all children’s.
This observance is part of a larger commitment by DLSA Srinagar and the Department of Social Welfare to support and uplift the lives of children in need, ensuring that every child receives the care, guidance, and resources necessary for a better future.
