Srinagar: Police on Monday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party of Police Station Gulmarg headed by SHO Police Station Gulmarg at a checkpoint established at GEP Gulmarg, intercepted one Fazil Beigh S/o Parvaiz Beigh R/o Lateefabad Kandi and during search recovered 25 grams of contraband charas like substances from the possession of the said accused who was arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody.
Stating that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Gulmarg besides initiating further investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society, reiterating therein its commitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
