SRINAGAR NOVEMBER 09: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today convened a meeting to discuss and finalize the Action Plan for effective Implementation and seamless implementation of Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA).

Besides, the Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad, the meeting was attended by, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats, other officers of Rural Development Department and other concerned officers.

The meeting discussed various aspects related to the implementation of the DAJGUA and other modalities for its successful execution to benifit the target population.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner underscored different dimensions of the centrally sponsored flagship scheme launched by the Prime Minister on October 02, 2024 to uplift tribal communities and ensure their socio-economic development.

He said that the Welfare scheme includes provision for housing, employment opportunities, and educational scholarships for tribal youth.

He added that the initiative has been taken for development of these communities aimed at enhancing infrastructure, education, and healthcare services in tribal pockets.

The DC further said that Abhiyan is also aimed to fill gaps in social infrastructure, health, education, and livelihood through 25 intervention schemes implemented by 17 Central Ministries and the Departments.

The DC stressed the Officers for effective implementation of DAJGUA scheme across the District. He also laid emphasis on saturation of all the schemes for the welfare of tribals.
