SHOPIAN, NOVEMBER 09: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar today inaugurated the food bumpers distribution function at Batapora Stadium, here.

The function was organised by Orphan in Need, a Srinagar based non-governmental organisation and was attended by various civil society members.

The officials of NGO apprised the Deputy Commissioner that about 300 food bumpers comprising rice, flour and spices shall be provided to the orphans and widows of the district.

The DC appreciated the efforts of the organisation for much needed interventions aimed to handhold the most distressed and downtrodden section of the society.

He also expressed the desire for further collaboration in such kinds of interventions aimed to alleviate the sufferings of the poor and destitute.

ADC, Dr.Zakir Hussain Faaz: ACR, Shakoor Ahamd Dar; DIO, Showkat Hussain Ganie and others were present at the event.
