Tangdar, Karnah— Government Degree College (GDC) Tangdar, in collaboration with the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, Karnah, organized a comprehensive fire safety awareness program and mock drill at the college campus. The event aimed to enhance the understanding of fire safety practices, emergency response, and prevention measures among students and faculty.

Numerous dignitaries from the college, faculty members, and a large number of students actively participated in the seminar. The program included speeches from officials of the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, who provided insights into fire hazards, preventive actions, and the critical role of preparedness in reducing the risks associated with fires.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services conducted mock exercises and practical demonstrations to give participants hands-on experience in handling fire emergencies. This included practical exercises on using fire extinguishers, safely evacuating during emergencies, and implementing first aid measures for smoke inhalation and burns.

The Principal of GDC Tangdar thanked the Department of Fire and Emergency Services for their commitment to educating the community on fire safety. The Fire Officer of Karnah emphasized the importance of these drills and awareness sessions, particularly in regions where accessibility to emergency services can be challenging.

The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students had the opportunity to ask questions and deepen their understanding of fire safety. Both students and faculty expressed appreciation for the practical skills gained and requested additional workshops on emergency preparedness in the future.

The awareness program and mock drill at GDC Tangdar marked an important step towards fostering a safety-conscious environment in Karnah, and similar initiatives are expected to be organized in other institutions and community spaces.
