KULGAM, OCTOBER 23: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan today chaired a comprehensive meeting of district officers to review action plan and preparedness for the upcoming winter season.

The DC assessed the availability of snow clearance machinery and reviewed the action plans of concerned departments, emphasizing the need for a prompt and coordinated response to public grievances.

The officers were urged to work in sync to effectively manage snow clearance and maintain essential supplies to prevent inconvenience to residents.

Officials from the Mechanical Engineering Department (MED) informed that 24 snow clearance machines, including 2 snow cutters, are ready for deployment. Additionally, Executive Officers (EOs) from the Municipal Councils briefed the meeting about their machinery and manpower preparations.

The DC instructed that snow clearance machinery and equipment should be positioned at critical locations to ensure timely action.

He also reviewed the winter preparedness of the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), particularly focusing on the availability of buffer stock transformers.

Emphasizing the importance of inter-departmental coordination, DC directed that all departments should ensure swift and efficient response times to address any eventualities during the winter.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Bashir Ahmad Wani, ADC Viqar Ahmad Giri, ASP Tanveer Ahmad, ACR Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, SDM Noorabad Bashir Ul Hassan, Executive Engineers from MED, KPDCL, and Jal Shakti, as well as other district officials.
