A media delegation from Jammu & Kashmir met with the Governor of Telangana, Shri Jishnu Dev Verma, at Raj Bhavan today as part of a Press Information Bureau (PIB) initiative aimed at sharing best governance practices between states. The delegation, consisting of twelve journalists from various prominent newspapers of Jammu & Kashmir, is currently on a week-long tour of Telangana to observe and understand the implementation of government policies and programs at the grassroots level.

The team, led by Smt Shruti Patil, Additional Director General of PIB Hyderabad, and Shri Tariq Rather, Deputy Director of PIB Srinagar, was welcomed by Governor Verma. The Governor emphasized Telangana’s rich cultural heritage and praised Hyderabad’s industrial growth and development. He highlighted the significance of such exchanges, stating, “In today’s age of communication and high-profile journalism, visits like these are crucial. Observing the best practices of different governments and sharing those experiences back home strengthens our democratic framework.”

As part of their itinerary, the delegation will visit key national institutions, including INCOIS, NIN, and NSTI, and interact with beneficiaries of various government schemes. The delegation comprises journalists from major J&K dailies like Excelsior, Asian Mail, Kashmir Monitor, Daily Gadyal, Kashmir Observer, Brighter Kashmir, State Times, Dainik State Samachar, and Udaan.

PIB officials, including Dr. Manas Krishnakanth, Deputy Director, and Ms. V. Gayithri, M&CO, are accompanying the delegation during the visit.
