The Income Tax Department, Srinagar, is organizing outreach programmes in the Union Territory of Ladakh to raise tax awareness in the region. This initiative aims to enhance tax understanding among local residents and provide clarity on various tax provisions.
The programmes will be held on 17th and 18th November in Kargil and Leh.
The initiative is being led by the Shri Lal Chand, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Amritsar, and Shri Vikram Sahay, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
During these sessions, participants will be informed about important provisions of the Income Tax Act, as well as the scope and benefits of exemptions and deductions specifically available under the Act for the residents of Ladakh.
These programmes aim to serve as a platform to address concerns and queries related to the Income Tax Act of 1961.
This initiative underscores the Income Tax Department’s commitment to raising tax awareness and promoting voluntary tax compliance, thereby contributing to a more transparent and efficient tax system in the region.
