179 CRPF inaugurates 2nd edition of Shaheed Nisar Ahmad Lone memorial football tournament

The inaugural match of the tournament was played between SRM Welkin School Sopore Vs MET School Sopore which was won by MET Sopore by a margin of 2-0

Sopore 15,Oct:The 179 battalion of CRPF on Tuesday organised the “Shaheed Nisar Ahmad Lone Memorial Football tournament” at Subhana Sports Stadium Sopore.

The tournament was inaugurated by Commanding officer 179 bn CRPF Shri V K Choudhary, in which Sixteen different football teams, and clubs of Sopore were participating.

 

The tournament was organised in memory of CRPF personal Shaheed Nisar Ahmad Lone resident of Anantnag in South Kashmir, who was martyred in Sopore in 2007, the inaugural ceremony was attended by officials of CRPF and locals.

 

On the occasion, CO 179 Crpf Shri V K Choudhary,attended the occasion as a chief guest,besides Vice Principal Hr Sec Sopore ,2/1c 179 Shri Mange ram,,DC Abay Singh Batti,DC Ajaye Kumar,AC Shri BH P sharma,AC A S Sutaliya and Sub Inspetor Rahul Kumar also present on the occasion.

 

Three matches were played on the inaugural day — SRM Welkin was defeated by MET Sopore by 2 goals, as Welkin failed to secure a single goal. Similarly Legends Sopore defeated Santorum by 4-1, while Dangerpora 11 beat Shahnoor 11 by 6-0 in the third match.
