Konark Suryas Odisha will face Southern Superstars in the final of Legends League Cricket 2024

Srinagar : A close contest between Konark Suryas Odisha and Toyam Hyderabad came to an end with Konark Suryas winning the match and cementing their position in the final of Legends League Cricket 2024. They defeated Toyam Hyderabad by 1 run at the Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar on Monday.

After winning the toss Toyam Hyderabad elected to bowl first in the match. For Konark Suryas Odisha, Richard Levi and Dilshan Munaweera opened the innings. They were down to 20/1 in 2.5 when Richard Levi was dismissed for 6 from 9 by Nuwan Pradeep. Dilshan Munaweera could manage to make 18 from 18 balls. Yusuf Pathan scored 12 from 4 balls. At a stage when they were 64/4 in 9.5 overs, skipper Irfan Pathan joined Kevin O’Brien in the middle. The duo added 79 runs for the fifth wicket before Kevin O’Brien was dismissed for 50 from 39 balls. Irfan remained unbeaten on 49* from 35 balls to help his post a score of 156/5 in 20 overs.

 

For Toyam Hyderabad, Stuart Binny took 2/19 in 4 overs. Monty Singh Panesar (1/23), Isuru Udana (1/27), Nuwan Pradeep (1/42) picked one wicket each in the innings.

 

With a target of 157 on the board, Chadwick Walton and George Worker opened the innings for Toyam Hyderabad. While Walton made 10 from 13 balls, Worker scored 8 from 10 balls. Peter Trego made 15 from 12 balls. Rikki Clarke played a brilliant innings as he made 67 from 44 balls. Skipper Guekeerat Singh Mann remained unbeaten on 27* from 25 balls. Samiullah Shinwari made 11 from 7 balls. While 12 runs were needed from the last over, Irfan Pathan gave just 10 runs to help his team win the match. Toyam Hyderabad managed to make 155/6 in 20 overs.

 

For Konark Suryas Odisha, Diwesh Pathania (1/30), Vinay Kumar (1/15), Ben Laughlin (1/24), Shahbaz Nadeem (1/21), KP Appanna (1/39) and Irfan Pathan (1/10) took one wicket each in the innings.

 

The final match will be played between Konark Suryas Odisha and Southern Superstars on October 16 at the Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar.
