Karnah : A condolence meeting was held to honor the late Syed Mushtaq Bukhari, a prominent leader of Pirpanchal and former minister, in Karnah and Uri. People from both areas paid tribute to him, acknowledging his remarkable services.

The meeting, held at the Cultural Hall in Karnah, was presided over by Abdul Rasheed Qureshi. Several dignitaries attended, including Abdul Rasheed Lon, Mir Haider Nadeem, Azid Muldial, Khwaja Khalid Mahmood, Iftikhar Qureshi, Khwaja Jahangir Qureshi, Mushkur Shad, Javed Qureshi, and others. The participants offered prayers for the departed soul and spoke highly of his contributions to society.

During the gathering, the speakers commended Syed Mushtaq Bukhari for his political and social efforts. They remarked on how he constantly advocated for the concerns of the hill people and led the struggle for the rights of the Scheduled Tribes. Condolences were extended to the bereaved family.

In Uri, a separate condolence meeting was organized by the Pahari Cultural and Welfare Forum at a local hotel, chaired by the forum’s patron, Qazi Muhammad Sheikh. Forum President Munir Ahmed Mangral, Azad Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Afzal Khan, Syed Sabir Hussain Shah, Liaquat Abbas, Muhammad Iqbal Sarhadi, General Secretary Akhtar Ahmad Abbasi, Mamoon Al Rasheed, Farqan Ahmed, and Muhammad Abbas Lon, among others, attended the event. The forum leaders expressed deep sorrow over Bukhari’s passing, considering it an irreplaceable loss for the Pahari community. They also reflected on his contributions to hill language, literature, and politics.

Religious figures, including Pir Shaukat Ahmad from Bunyar and Maulana Hassan Nasrullah from Lebanon, also conveyed their sympathies, expressing shock and grief over the loss. The meeting included discussions on several important topics and plans for the future, focusing on supporting and guiding the youth. The role of young people in strengthening the hill community was emphasized, encouraging them to take leadership and further the cause of the mountain forum.
