Poonch Soft Tennis Association Reelects Leadership for Four-Year Term Amid Growing Enthusiasm for the Sport moon

Poonch, 1st September 2024 – The District Poonch Soft Tennis Association successfully held its General Body election at the Sports Stadium Poonch, reaffirming the commitment of its leadership for another term. The re-elected officials will serve from 2024 to 2028, following a democratic process that showcased the growing enthusiasm for soft tennis in the region.

Zulfaqar Ahmed continues as President, helming efforts to elevate the sport’s profile in Poonch. He is joined by Vice President Mohd Rayaz, General Secretary Mohd Shabir, and Joint Secretary Sajid Rafiq, who all bring a wealth of experience and dedication to their roles. The financial responsibilities will rest in the capable hands of Cashier Mohd Iqbal, while Executive Members Imtaiz Ahmed and Mohd Mashooq will lend their collective expertise in steering the association into its new term.

Significantly, this election saw the presence of the soft tennis team from Srinagar, showcasing solidarity and support for Poonch’s initiatives. The gathering was further honored by dignitaries such as Nirdosh Kumar, Incharge of the Sports Stadium Poonch, along with other respected figures including Parvaiz Ahmed Malik, Shabir Malik, Ajaz Malik, Manzoor Lone, Mohd, and Ashraf Malik.

The enthusiastic turnout and participation reflect a growing interest in soft tennis as it emerges as a competitive sport in Jammu and Kashmir. New initiatives proposed by the re-elected leadership include organizing local tournaments, enhancing coaching programs, and fostering youth engagement to develop new talent in the area.

With the election concluded successfully, the Association stands poised to build on its past achievements, and further its mission of promoting soft tennis at both grassroots and competitive levels. As players and officials unite in their vision, the Poonch Soft Tennis Association looks forward to an exciting and progressive four years ahead.
