SHOPIAN, SEPTEMBER 17: In a continuous and concerted effort for the maximum possible voter attendance in the polling stations on the Polling Day, a diverse range of SVEEP activities were organised across Shopian District.
DEO, ROs, Nodal Officer, SVEEP, and Nodal Officer, Media, in run up to the approaching polling day have intensified its electoral awareness and literacy activities to reach out to all voters of the district for their vote deliverance on September, 18.
These encompassed activities included door to door campaigns, Street Plays, Cycle, Bike, Horse & Umbrella Rallies, Public announcements, distribution of electoral literacy pamphlets, seminars, reels, and posters besides painting competitions, among others.
Booth Awareness Groups (BAGs) conducted door-to-door campaigns across multiple neighborhoods, delivering oral appeals and distributing pamphlets. They engaged with residents to explain the voter registration process, the importance of voter ID cards, and the value of every vote.
During the SVEEP activities, special focus was placed on encouraging elderly women, youth and marginalized communities to participate in the elections.
SVEEP teams traversed high altitude and alpine areas and focused on urban areas to tackle and tide over the urban apathy problem and make outreaches for voter mobilisation.
The district administration has expressed appreciation for all the stakeholders for their efforts in voter awareness programs and hoped that the activities shall bear fruit on the day of Day.
